It is amazing how something can start from so trivial a question

Passerby: Qin wen, ni zhi dao you zheng ju zai na li ma?
Liu: Huh? you zheng ju? The nearest petrol station is over there?
Passerby: ???
Liu: umm, dui bu qi, bu zhi dao.


Later in class,

Liu: Is you zheng ju petrol station?
Groupmate 1: Huh? You have got to be kidding me
Liu: Its not petrol station?
Groupmate 1: you zheng ju means post office, you zhan means petrol station
Liu: Oh, but both have you in it?

*short bursts of laughter around the table*

Groupmate 1: Which secondary school were you from?
Your Chinese cannot make it
Liu: scgs.
Groupmate: oh, hot uniform!!
Groupmate 2: WA, sexy! Wear it to class!!


Guys’ fascination with the scgs pinafore has never cease to amaze me because that was what they talked about from the class all the way to the lab.

In the lab,

Groupmate 1: Sc uniform, very hot
Groupmate 2: sexy!!
Groupmate 1’s room-mate (sitting at the front): hot?scgs? Who?
Groupmate 1: Liu is from scgs
Room-mate turned and grimaced

Last week it was my so called race queen jacket that was the butt of their jokes; this week was … the uniform?

Maybe I should start charging entertainment fees.
